Samantha will listen to your health issues and ask a wide range of questions about your current complaint and your health history. This information is completely confidential and will be used to formulate an individual treatment plan to benefit you most. Chinese Medicine views the body holistically, so symptoms that may seem unrelated often fit together into a coherent picture.

In all treatment sessions, including the initial consultation, Samantha will feel the pulses on your wrists and look at your tongue. These are traditional Chinese tools for diagnosis and together with the information you offer, will reveal more about the state of your health.

Subsequent treatments are shorter, typically lasting 45 minutes. These sessions begin with a review of how your symptoms have changed since your last visit, followed by the treatment.

Moxa can be be applied directly to the skin, secured onto acupuncture needles or burnt over the skin in the form of a cigar like stick.

Gua Sha involves rubbing oiled skin with a smooth blunt edge to eliminate toxic residues from the underlying tissue that has built up through repetitive chronic inflammation.

This treatment is good for deep tissue injuries, particularly deep bruising and for clearing the toxins in muscle tissue resulting from physical exercise. As with cupping, gua sha treatments can often leave marks on the skin.
